AMBICO LIMITED STC 50 WOOD DOORS ACHIEVE FIRE RATING OF 90 MINUTES -A UNIQUE ACHIEVEMENT FOR ACOUSTIC WOOD DOORS
NOVEMBER, 2004: AMBICO Limited announces another "first" in high-performance ratings for a wood door product: AMBICO's STC-50 wood, single-swing door, has achieved a 90-minute fire rating at a leading North American test facility.
Fire endurance tests were conducted at Intertek ETL Semko Laboratories in British Columbia, Canada, which accords Intertek/Warnock Hersey Certification. Tests were conducted on a wood-clad acoustic door, in accordance with UL 10C, UBC 7-2(1997) Part 1, NFPA 252, and ASTM E2074-00, Standard Method of Fire Test of Door Assemblies (Positive Pressure).
The 90-minute fire rating has never before been achieved by an STC-50 wood acoustic door. Once again, AMBICO has developed a door product which far surpasses those of similar construction and sound attenuation. Prior to this, a 45-minute fire labeling was the ultimate certification for a wood, STC-50, fire door.
