UL Level One standard to protect against medium power small arms (Super 38 Automatic). UL Level Two standard to protect against high power small arms (.357 Magnum Revolver). UL Level Three standard to protect against superpower small arms (.44 Magnum Revolver).
UL Level Four standard to protect against high power rifle attack (30-06 Rifle) where anticipated threat levels are extremely high. UL Levels Five through Eight to protect against military assault weapons using armour-piercing ballistics.
UL Level Nine to protect against armor piercing .30 caliber rifles or other high-powered hunting and sporting rifles. UL Level Ten to protect against high powered military weapons such as a .50 caliber rifles.

- Can a bullet resistant door stop any type of bullet fired at it?
- Bullet resistant doors are subject to the criteria established in the standard UL752. Ten distinct levels of bullet resistance are established ranging from a small arms 9mm handgun (Level 1) to a 7.62 high powered military assault rifle (Level 10). When selecting an AMBICO bullet resistant door and frame do so with reference to the anticipated threat – please refer to the UL752 Standards Chart. - Do I need special hardware with a bullet resistant door?
- AMBICO bullet resistant doors levels 1 through 8 weigh between seven to twenty-one pounds per square foot and operate with readily available heavyweight builders hardware. Levels 9 and 10 weigh between twenty-six and thirty-two pounds per square foot and require special heavy duty hinges that will be supplied by AMBICO.
- Can bullet resistant doors and frames be supplied with bullet resistant glazing?
- Yes – bullet resistant glass polycarbonate is available and may be factory pre-installed. The bullet resistant capacity of the door, frame and glass must be complementary.
- What type of facilities are ideal for bullet resistant doors?
- Government buildings, army bases, banks, bomb shelters, security barriers, schools and universities, hospital emergency areas, casinos, and anywhere else requiring high security.
